HOME PROVINCE/STATE and COUNTRY:
Boulder, CO by way of Chicago
NUMBER OF YEARS DOING YOUR SPORT:
I have been running marathons since 2012 and ultras since 2013.
Your main 2018-2019 challenge is:
Transition from ultrarunning to the multisport world: do more cycling, swimming, snowshoeing, nordic skiing, telemark skiing, and hiking 14ers.
2017 WAS AWESOME BECAUSE:
Had it's ups and downs. I moved to Colorado and ran a tough mountain 100 miler, The Bryce 100. But I also discovered that I had a torn labrum in my left hip, I couldn't run my A-race the Bear 100, but I caught the torn labrum early and hopefully am well on the way to recovery.
Most proud of:
My dedication day-to-day. I've been doing 2-a-days for almost four years. How else would I fit it all in? Big races and big results are exciting, but the peace I find on the trails and lifting weights is interwoven into my entire life and that's pretty cool. It's like meditation for me!
#1 Tip for success:
Metrics! Daily goals, weekly goals, monthly goals, yearly goals. Who cares if its miles, inches, hours, or milliseconds-- find something, set goals, and stick to it.
